Laser Lines & Stitches was founded out of resilience, reinvention, and a leap of faith. After a 17-year career at IBM, our Founder and CFO, Brian Johnson, was laid off—an unexpected turning point that challenged his sense of purpose. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, a Minor in Business, and certifications as both a Project Management Professional (PMP®) and SCRUM Master, Brian set out to find a new path.
Following months of job searching and self-reflection, Brian was introduced to an entrepreneur who encouraged him to explore a new direction. Through aptitude and personality assessments, it became clear: Brian had the skills, passion, and drive to build something of his own. Inspired by this realization and with the support of his husband, he officially launched Laser Lines & Stitches on Christmas Eve 2023 by purchasing the first XTool P2 laser machine. Since then, the workshop has grown to include an M1 laser, a 24”, a full sublimation setup, six 3D printers with multi AMS's for 8 color printing for each job, a Bai VS22-2 commercial embroidery machine and three other sewing machines for finish work.
Michael Johnson, Brian’s husband and co-founder, serves as the company’s CEO. A proud Army veteran of 17 years, who was on active duty during the Gulf War and a active member of the American Legion. Michael holds an Associate degree in Computer Science and works full-time as an Information Security Advisor Principal at Allianz Life Insurance of North America. Despite his demanding career, which comes first, Michael plays an active role in the business in the evening, managing inventory, leading the custom embroidery division, and supporting day-to-day operations, which includes website design and maintenance for new products.
At Laser Lines & Stitches, we honor our military and first responder communities—values deeply rooted in our personal and professional lives. We are committed to quality craftsmanship, customer satisfaction, and integrity. You can trust that we will never create a product that goes against the principles we stand for.
